Aurélia is a French artist based in London.

Trained as an architect, she is inspired by the interaction between the material and the living environment, the traces left behind, the barely noticeable, the untold stories behind a scratch in the wallpaper of a demolished building.

As a child she was fascinated by tiny details of invisible life in the garden, insects trails, scattered petals, pine cones and blown up autumn leaves.

This interest grew into a fascination for the environment, the impact of man- made built form on people and nature, its influence on our well being and emotions.

In her work, textures, surfaces and marks are used to express what our mind chooses to remember, amplify or minimise and transforms almost unintentionally.

She often starts with an impression, a memory or a fleeting emotion as a first uncontrolled gesture, a way of connecting with a deeper knowledge, mostly unconscious and then proceeds by successive iterations till the story is revealed.

Having discovered her neurodivergence late in life, she is interested in how her creative practice enables her to connect the different parts of herself that were unable to be expressed in a long masking process.

She is a founder and member of the London based Anima artist collective.
Her work has been exhibited in the UK, France and Dubai.
